| My son myself and
a friend went fishing at our favorite fishing pond in
Indiana 1982 and my friend was saying that he was going
to catch the biggest fish and like always I would say do
you want make a bet on the first and biggest fish? Well
we never made a bet but I caught the big fish on the
left of the picture and my son caught the fish on the
right. Guess who caught the fish in the middle! |

My
big mistake deer hunting. Added 03/18/09

Oh Time Lures! |
| I started
hunting when I was 22 years old and I thought
there was nothing like it and all I could think of
was hunting. I had only bagged one deer and it was
a small button top, I was still green to deer
hunting but learning every season that would go
by. I thought I was one great deer hunter and did
not need to learn anymore because I already knew
it all, but man was I wrong. 15 years later! I got
up in the tree around 3:30 pm in the afternoon and
as soon as I got myself comfortable a buck stood
up 40 yards from me that was just waking up, so I
pulled my gun up and shot and did not wait and
climbed down and started looking for the deer I
just shot. I made the mistake of not waiting for
the deer to bleed out and die. The picture above
is the deer that I shot but was not found until a
week later by my brother Jack who happen to walk
upon it. My son is holding the deer head up for
the picture. I had been hunting awhile when I made
this mistake, so you never know it all! Always
wait at least 30 minutes to an hour before you
start tracking your deer! |

Build a
comfortable deer stand. Added 03/18/09

| Having a
comfortable deer stand will allow you to stay in
your stand longer. I would hunt out of stands that
were not very comfortable and would not stay in them
long and get down and start back to the truck and
most of the time I would jump up a deer that was
heading toward my stand. I decided to build stands
that are comfortable and I become a much better deer
hunter because of it. Comfortable stands are the
key to staying in your stand and not missing a deer! |
